James Brown
James Brown is a close up magician and consultant based in the UK. He’s best known in the magic world for his misdirection and blending of magic, pickpocketing and real hypnotic experience. Alongside performing at corporate and private events James is also in demand as a magic consultant, working on acclaimed TV Magic shows such as Dynamo Is Dead and the international hit movie Mission Impossible – Final Reckoning. Back in 2006 James won the Magic Circle Close Up Magician of the Year award and has been milking that bad boy ever since. He’s also intelligent enough to never enter a competition again due to the law of diminishing returns.
Building Worlds Lecture by James Brown
This lecture is all about how we create magic through human connection. Through the demonstration and explanation of some of his favourite goto effects James will show how magic is not found in the moves, sleights and methods but in the way the human mind interprets information and actively generates the reality we experience. Along the way he will share thoughts of how to practice, overcome performance anxiety and create breathtaking moments that will feel like real magic.
This close up magic lecture includes elements of card magic (including James signature cards in box ending), a devious and delicious hook and handling for Double Cross which gives your spectator the experience of feeling the cross magically appear, and a fun piece of impromptu wonder sure to please the social media performers.
At the end of the lecture James will perform his version of Aaron Alexanders Push. A phenomenal effect that gives the participants the experience of actual magic.
